To achieve BSB42615 Certificate IV in New Small Business, the learner will need to complete 10 units of competency as below:
- 4 core units
- 6 elective units

BSBSMB402 – Plan small business finances
BSBSMB403 – Market the small business
BSBSMB404 – Undertake small business planning
Elective units have been specifically chosen to meet generic small business competencies (6 elective units in total required.)
BSBFIA402 – Report a financial activity
BSBSMB405 – Monitor and manage small business operations
BSBSMB406 – Manage small business finances
BSBSMB407 – Manage a small team
BSBWOR404 – Develop work priorities
BSBCUS402 – Address customer needs
