Supporting Your Success with Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Skills (LLND) at ISM
We assess your Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills to help you succeed in your course and your career. Support is available every step of the way.

Supporting Every Step of Your Learning Journey
At the Institute of Strategic Management (ISM), we recognise that every student brings different strengths and experiences to their learning journey. Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills – often referred to as LLND – are the essential skills that help you study effectively and perform well in your chosen career. These include reading and understanding course materials, writing clearly, using maths in practical situations, and confidently working with digital technologies like email, online learning platforms, spreadsheets and business tools.
As part of our commitment to your success, all students complete an LLND assessment before starting their course. This is not a test, but a way for us to identify how we can best support you. If you need a bit of extra help in any area – whether that’s reading documents, using numbers, or navigating digital systems – we’ll work with you to develop a support plan. Our aim is to help you feel confident and capable throughout your studies and beyond, in real workplace situations.
