This FNS51822 Diploma of Financial Services, specialising in complex commercial lending, gives brokers the practical knowledge and tools they need to confidently settle sophisticated commercial loans and expand their broking services into the commercial and asset finance sector.

Why study the FNS51822 Diploma of Financial Services?

Built exclusively for commercial and asset finance brokers, this Diploma features CAFBA-specific content you won’t find in any other qualification — designed to sharpen your product knowledge and better serve your clients. Completing this Diploma satisfies CAFBA membership requirements and aligns with ASIC Regulatory Guide 206: Credit Licensing – Competence and Training, making it the ideal qualification for brokers building expertise in complex commercial lending while meeting both membership and compliance obligations.

Which Pathway is Right for you?

New to the finance industry? We generally recommend starting with the Certificate IV pathway before progressing into the Diploma. If you are new to commercial and asset finance, the Certificate IV pathway may provide a stronger foundation before commencing Diploma-level study.

Not sure which pathway is right for you? Students with prior finance or mortgage broking experience may be eligible for direct Diploma entry, while students new to the industry are often better suited to the Certificate IV pathway first.

NOTE: This qualification has been designed to meet the needs of those people who need to comply with ASIC Regulatory Guide 206 Credit Licensing: Competence and training.

Not sure where to start? Book a call with our team to find out which pathway is right for you.

I recently finished my Certificate IV in Financial Services with the Institute of Strategic Management, and it was such a great experience! The course was easy to follow, super practical, and the trainers were really supportive and understanding. I felt encouraged the whole way through, and it’s helped me grow so much in my role. I’d definitely recommend ISM to anyone wanting to build their skills or confidence in the financial services space! 🌟

Had a great experience with the process for Cert IV via RPL with ISM. Course coordinator Kiarah was super helpful and responsive and RPL assessor Craig was also great to work with.

My experience with ISM was disappointing due to their extremely slow and inefficient processing times. Although I completed my course in about a month, it took nearly five months to receive my certificate. Every stage of the process felt unnecessarily drawn out, as if delays were built in just to appear like progress was being made. What should have been a straightforward and timely experience turned into a frustrating, drawn-out ordeal. There's a clear need for ISM to streamline their systems and improve communication, especially for students who need timely outcomes for professional or visa-related purposes

We provide an RPL Policy and Procedures document and an RPL Kit for eligible candidates. These documents explain:

  • What RPL entails
