Yes, especially if you’re aiming to work in credit control, collections, or financial services. The qualification is often a minimum requirement for roles like Credit Officer, Accounts Receivable Manager, or Collections Team Leader. It also supports compliance roles within the finance sector.

In the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), a Certificate IV is positioned at Level 4. It sits above a Certificate III and below a Diploma.

Most students complete the FNS40122 in 6–12 months, depending on whether they study full-time or part-time. With flexible online options, ISM lets you study at your own pace.

Yes. While a Certificate III can provide a foundation, it’s not a prerequisite. Entry into a Cert IV usually requires only basic workplace or life experience and LLN (Language, Literacy, and Numeracy) proficiency.

Not exactly—it depends on your career stage. A Diploma is more advanced, while a Certificate IV is ideal for those stepping into or consolidating roles in a specific industry, like credit and collections.

Course fees vary by provider. At ISM, the course is affordably priced with flexible payment options. You may also be eligible for funding depending on your location and circumstances. Contact us here to get started.

While the Certificate IV in Credit Management (FNS40122) is a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), it is not in itself an ASIC RG (Regulatory Guide) accredited course such as RG146 Tier II Asic Compliance.

However, this qualification provides a strong foundation for professionals working in credit assessment, collections, and risk management, all of which require an understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks in the financial services industry.

If you are pursuing a role that involves giving financial product advice (such as in wealth management or financial planning), you may also need to complete a course that meets the requirements of ASIC RG146.

For those specifically seeking compliance certification, we recommend reviewing your intended job role and checking if RG146 or other ASIC-accredited qualifications are required in addition to this course.
