ISM recognises the potential benefits of AI tools in enhancing learning experiences. However, it is crucial that these tools are used responsibly to ensure academic integrity and the development of genuine skills and knowledge.
5.4.1 Student Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Procedure
This aims to provide guidelines for the appropriate use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools by students enrolled at ISM. The policy ensures that AI is utilised in a manner that upholds academic integrity, promotes learning, and respects ethical considerations.
This policy applies to all students enrolled in any course or program offered by ISM, whether delivered online, virtual or face to face.

Examples of permissible uses include generating ideas, understanding complex concepts, practicing skills, and summarising content.
2. Prohibited Use of AI Tools

Engaging AI tools to produce work that the student is required to complete independently. (eg role plays and scripts for role plays)
Submitting AI-generated content of any type, as your own original work
3. Disclosure and Attribution
Students must disclose the use of AI tools in their work. This includes citing specific tools used and describing how they were utilised.
Proper attribution must be given to any AI-generated content included in submissions.
4. Academic Integrity
Any use of AI tools must adhere to ISM’s Assessment Policy. Plagiarism, cheating, and other forms of academic dishonesty will not be tolerated.
Students found to be in breach of this policy may face disciplinary actions, including but not limited to, receiving a failing grade for the assignment, suspension, or expulsion.
5. Training and Support
Students are encouraged to seek guidance from trainers/assessors or support staff if unsure about the appropriate use of AI.

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
Usage of AI tools by students will be monitored to identify trends and areas where additional guidance may be required.
